9. External Recognition Agenda, Hamilton F2F DFI: 2021
Mōrena
Great start...
Reflection within the feedback form - see below.
However I didn't count on not being able to enter the Google exam space, OMD, OMG, OMW:
Oh my dear / gosh / WHAT??? Mine and Rangiamohia's entry info had not been recieved so instead of starting our exam at 9.30am, its now 10 and we are still waiting???
10.23am still waiting...
It's arrived, 10.43am and we are away...
3 hours went so quickly but ended with approx 25 mins to spare and its over - OH NO IT'S NOT now I haven't recieved my results like the others so again I'm THE PROBLEM CHILD, uuuggghhh.
One of the things I haven't mentioned but I think is very powerful is the fact that Manaiakalani seems to be linking everything which I believe is a wonderful way to approach this work and how this adds to everyone's efficiency. Maybe I am not interpreting what I mean eloquently but I am referring to these things:
- The PEDAGOGY remains the hierarchy throughout
- The planning approach that is currently being worked through, linked to LCS
- The way the research observation of teachers was linked to that, linked to LCS
- The way we can link what we are learning and achieving to what we do already so not having to approach this like an add on, linked to LCS
- The dream of the efficiency which has definitely been created across everything we do and again, linked to LCS
- The research which informs and guides always from the perspective, linked to LCS
- Being able to get some perspective of how we are tracking alongside colleagues on a similar journey, linked to LCS
Feedback Form:
thinking of the whole package here - the digital, the group, Manaiakalani, learning using the LCS pedagogy etc etc
All of it has been positive - the wrap around
and reliable approach has also given it the professional punch that can slide
over time which has not been the case here - thank you. I also appreciated the
way LCS has always featured as the beginning of each session so that the
understanding and adherence to this has been the driver of all new learning
each time. I have enjoyed the variety of presenters including those who
contribute via Meet, never stop doing this. I appreciate the flexibilty that
you have managed to offer whilst not digressing from or weakening the
professionalism that you have delivered in spades from negotiating our entire
team to participate in the DFI, in class support, people coming and going
beyond our control and still willing to accomodate in a powerful manner. Then
the learning, this has been surpassed in every shape and form from my
perspective and my goal and most important hope was that as a result of all of
our team participating - our students, who occupy a very special place in my
heart for so many reasons and who I think deserve the very best learning
opportunities where they get to experience the brilliance that they are is on
the way to being expotentially available to them from this perspective.
Efficiency and workflow have been the best and
I can see it getting even better the more I get to use what I have learnt. A further benefit is now that I have learnt more it has made it easier to problenm-solve other aspects of this learning
Let us know how you think we could improve or do this better to support the next cohort.
There are a few things with regard to te ao
Māori, te reo Māori and some minor details which I would happily provide at a
later date.
Is there anything else you would like to say or let us know?
I appreciate everything, all of it, all of
you, the entire kaupapa - to the moon and back again!

I wish I had known we needed this App for DFI 7 because if I had I would have made sure we had it.
I could not illustrate what I was able to learn with regard to this App as firstly we weren't aware we needed a differentiated App, I then didn't get to use an iPapa and trying to show what I created resulted in this photo below as a way to try to show what I had doneusing a 'try now' version from my laptop.
Time to reflect and share with colleagues
- He aha aku akoranga hei āwhina i taku mārama atu ki te ariā ako me te kaupapa o Manaiakalani?
He aha aku akoranga hei whakawhanake i te ngaiotanga, i taku māia, i taku kakama, i te rere rānei a te mahi?
He aha aku akoranga kia tukua, kia tohaina atu ki āku ākonga?
He aha aku akoranga hei whakawhanake i taku māia, i taku kakama, i te rere rānei a te mahi ki taku ao whaiaro?
Ko te mea nui tāku auahatanga me te whakanui i āku mahi, ngā mahi tere ake o āku mahi i mua i te DFI.
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
